Exhibits

The one-room permanent exhibition charts the history of Orange Walk District from Maya times to the present. Glass cases contain artifacts from local Maya sites, along with maps and drawings of the sites themselves. Other panels display archival materials documenting the stories of logwood, mahogany and chicle, which tell of the boom-and-bust cycles of extracting natural resources.

Programs

Banquitas also hosts musical events and art exhibitions that include paintings, woodcarvings and photo essays of daily life in Orange Walk.
