The Institute of Creative Arts (ICA) which is one of the four arms of the National Institute for Culture and History (NICH) continues to work in preserving and promoting Belize’s cultural heritage and artistic expressions.
ICA announces the launch of an exhibit entitled, “Art in the City”, on Friday July 8th at 7:00 p.m at the Belisle Art Gallery, Bliss Centre for the Performing Arts.

Melody’s first painting was sold at Lindsey Hackston Gallery “Belizean Arts.”   Melody has embraced arts in every form from an early age in the community of San Pedro Ambergris Caye including performing arts in school, cultural dancing locally and abroad, she was a member of the San Pedro Dance Company for seven years, Photography and writing for four years with Ambergris Today Newspaper and Amateur Modeling. Melody has owned and operated ‘Belizean Melody Art Gallery’ for the past three years. 
Melody always has her favorite Melodies playing while she paints, “I love to dance and to me painting is dancing on canvas.”
Melissa Quan, is another artist being featured in the exhibit. Melissa was raised in Belize City and began taking art classes as a child, and later majored in Art at SJCJC.  In 2004, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Florida International University.  Melissa was fortunate to have grown up in Belize, surrounded by inspiration from the sea, the rainforest, and rich diversity of flora and fauna which is depicted in many of her works. This is Melissa’s first exhibit at the Bliss.

The exhibit runs up until the end of July.
