The Belisle Art Gallery at The Bliss Centre for the Performing Arts is delighted to announce its latest exhibit NOYA, displaying the works of Belizean artist Miriam Ochoa.

Miriam “Noya” Ochoa was born and raised in Belize where the vibrancy of her muli-cultural heritage along with the beauty and wonder of the rainforest, coral reef, wildlife and Mayan Pyramids formed the basis of her early inspiration. In her early twenties her family relocated to New York where Noya studied art at Hunter College. That basic training was the springboard for self-expression and her work has developed considerably over the years. Noya expresses herself in oils, acrylics on canvas, watercolours and pastels. She is particularly interested in the human face, especially the faces of women.

A mostly self-taught artist, today Noya resides in Miami where her work is also exhibited locally and where she operates her own art studio.

This is Noya’s first solo exhibit and runs until June 30th.
